Kaestner, Hogan Named Big East Players of the Week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Georgetown sophomore Ashby Kaestner has earned BIG EAST women's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Syracuse freshman Liz Hogan has earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Kaestner tallied 14 points, including 11 goals in a 2-0 week for the Hoyas. In a 16-9 conference win against Loyola on Feb. 23, the sophomore scored five goals and had an assist. She also grabbed two ground balls and had a caused turnover. In an 11-10 win at George Washington on Feb. 20, Kaestner scored a career-best six goals, had two assists, two draw controls and a caused turnover. Eight of her 11 goals on the season have come in the second half. In 2007 she totaled 10 goals the entire year. This is the first BIG EAST Player of the Week citation she has earned.
