Former Philadelphia Wings coach and player Tony Resch and will be among the National Lacrosse League's Hall Of Fame inductees for 2008. Resch was a member of all six of the Wings World Championship Teams, four as a head coach (1994, '95, '98, 2001) and two as a player (1989, '90). He will join Sal LoCascio, Johnny Mouradian, and writer Neil Stevens in the NLL's third Hall Of Fame Class.
"Tony is a legend in Wings lacrosse history," said Wings President and Owner Russ Cline. "He was an outstanding player and coach. More than that, he was always a gentleman who worked hard, treated his players with respect and was a consummate competitor. He is deserving of this recognition and we are very proud of him."
Resch played six seasons with the Wings (1998-93) and was a defensive specialist, playing in 47 games and scoring 22 points on 12 goals and ten assists. A team leader, Resch served as team captain for three seasons, and was a member of the 1991 American Division All-Star Team. Resch took over as Head Coach in 1994, leading the Wings to a 6-2 record in the regular season and then beat the Buffalo Bandits 26-15 in the 1994 Championship Game. The following season, the Wings went 7-1 in the regular season and then went on to secure their second consecutive championship, giving Resch championships in each of his first two seasons as head coach. Resch retired following his sixth and final championship in 2001.

The Class of 2008 will also be honored at halftime of the Third Annual NLL Hall of Fame Game, which takes place on Friday, February 29 at Wachovia Center when the Philadelphia Wings host the New York Titans at 8 p.m. Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling 215-389-WING or at wingslax.com.
Resch is the fifth member of the Philadelphia Wings organization inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame. Wings President and Co-Owner Russ Cline and Executive Vice-President and Co-Owner Chris Fritz were among the NLL's inaugural class of inductees in 2006, followed by former player Tom Marechek and Executive Vice-President and Co-Owner Michael French in 2007.
