Lacrosse is Back!
KnightHawks beat Shamrox, 15-13; Mammoth beat Roughnecks, 13-9; Rock beat Swarm, 17-12

Ryan Benesch scored six goals to lead the Toronto Rock past the Minnesota Swarm, 17-12, at General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
The Rock never trailed, as Benesch scored the first two goals of the game. Minnesota tied the score, 3-3, in the second quarter, but the Rock scored three straight and took a 10-6 lead into halftime.
After the Swarm cut the lead the 10-8 in the third quarter, Benesch scored the first two goals of a five-goal run, which gave Toronto a 15-8 lead.
Rookie forward Mark Scherman had a hat-trick, while former Swarm forward Kasey Beirnes added two goals and two assists against his former team.
Bob Watson (28 saves, 6 goals against) and Mike Poulin (13 saves, 6 goals against) split time in goal for the Rock.
Rookie Craig Point and newcomer Andy Secore scored Sean Pollock added two goals for the Swarm.
Nick Patterson made 47 saves and allowed 16 goals in the loss.
The game got physical, especially in the fourth quarter, with the teams combining for 175 penalty minutes.
John Grant scored five goals to lead the Rochester Knighthawks past the Chicago Shamrox, 15-13, at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations, Ontario. Shawn Evans added a hat-trick, while Shawn Williams and rookie Matt Lyons each had two goals for the Knighthawks, who improved to 2-0 in the pre-season.
Pat O'Toole, Phil Wetherup and and Grant Crawley each saw time in goal for Rochester.
Bill McGlone, Mat Giles and Tom Montour each scored two goals apiece for the Shamrox, who were missing seven starters, including Scott Self, Kevin Fines, Lindsay Plunkett and Daryl Gibson.
The Colorado Mammoth and Calgary Roughnecks each opened their pre-season schedule with a scrimmage in Richmond, British Columbia. Jamie Shewchuk scored four goals to lead the Mammoth, while Dan Carey added two. Tracey Kelusky, who only played in the first half, scored three goals to lead the Roughnecks.
