Roughnecks beat Stealth
SAN JOSE, Calif. (CP) - Kaleb Toth scored four goals and added four assists to lead the Calgary Roughnecks to a 15-11 win over the San Jose Stealth on Saturday in the National Lacrosse League.
Two of Toth's goals cane in the first quarter, where Calgary opened up a 5-0 lead.
''It was a solid team performance from beginning to end,'' said Roughnecks GM Kurt Silcott. ''Everyone played well, but none better than Kaleb Toth.''
Calgary's leading scorers, Lewis Ratcliff and Tracey Kelusky, each had three goals. Scott Ranger added a pair for the Roughnecks (4-1), while Kyle Goundrey, Devan Wray and Jeff Moleski added singles. Goundrey also had four assists.
Toth, Wray and Moleski all scored short-handed, giving Calgary 12 short-handed goals in five games. The NLL season record is 15.
Gary Rosyski led San Jose (1-5) with a goal and four assists. Jeff Zywicki had a hat trick while Kyle Sorensen and Luke Wiles had two goals apiece.
Andrew Leyshon went all the way in goal for Calgary and earned his third win of the season.
Anthony Cosmo and Aaron Bold split goaltending duties for the Stealth.
