Default Someone Help Me Please

My name is Jonathan Mactzul, and I play Goalie for Foothill High school in california. I am looking for a D1, D2, or D3 college that might need a Goalie. My team is not that good so we haven't won a game, But i am amazing in Goal. As of this season so far we have played 8 games, and i have an amazing 268 SHOTS on goal with 170 SAVEs giving me a .634 saving percent. all the coaches in my area are always impressed with my goaltending, to the point where it feels like they are playing me rather than my team. Last night i had 46 Shots taken on me and i saved 33 of them. Giving me a .717 save ratio. Im not saying im the best but i am good at what i do. I just need the chance with the right team. So if any one knows of a team, all im asking is that you just let me know. i really want to play college ball. And if you dont belive me, you can see my stats. Here is a link to them. thank you

how do you have such good stats or moderately good stats your team hasn't won yet and you get drilled every game o i guess a lot of shots and i mean a lot

as far as playing make yourself a nice profile on one of those recruiting sites.

The best way would be to send some schools you are interested in your full game tapes. This can give them an idea of how well you play. You can also attend some camps to get recognized. I know many schools recruit so I would say any school would be open.

My team is full of new people and they dont understand how when the first slide goes, the second is supposed to follow and cover the guy. So the shots they take are usually about five yards outside the crease. If i played with a better team i would probably be one of the top three goalies in CA. As of now i rank 8, in all games but for league games i rank 6. All i need is the team. On top of that i have only been playing lax for almost three years. This is my first year as goalie. The powell brothers had a camp in granite bay last summer, and i won th Brick wall Award. Those four days were my first four days in the cage. All i need is a good team.

Just a hint...never say that to a college coach.

Own up to everything...say how playing for a young team has taught you how to defend shots that normal goalies wouldn't face...and fess up to every goal scored on you, and how you've improved despite adversity.

My buddy is a college football coach, and he says that generally they don't give a darn what you did in high school...but how much you've improved and whether you'll be ready to play at the next level when players are twice as skilled.

Never, ever say I'd be good if I played for a better team. Ever.

I understand where you are coming from and I agree with you 100%. But what I meant was that my team can only go so far because of there inexperience. Ive never blamed them for losing a game the only thing ive ever been mad about are the stupid mistakes that happen. Like not covering the crease, or running to the hole on a fast break, and especially not helping their teamates out for ground balls. What usually happens is that my team gives up before i do. Ill try to pump them up but eventually they show no effort. Im the only Goalie on the team, we have no back up, but i still go all out every min of the game no matter how much a save hurt, or if ive been nailed in the nuts. I really dont care if we win or lose as long as we compete and at least give it our best shot. I guess what i meant to say is that if i played on a more experienced team i would be able to perform at a higher level than the one im at. As far as saves go ive had every type of save you could think of, leg, shoulder, chest, shaft, glove, leg, shoe and cup saves. every goal that is made i always try to review the play and shot in my head, my positioning and stance i was in and how i could of saved it. I learn new things to do on the field every day. most of the time it works, some of the times it fails, its all done on a trial and error basis. I belive it has helped me become the player i am today.

I don't remember if you said if you're a senior or not...but get to summer camps if you aren't and step it up.

If you are a senior be prepared to walk on. Lacrosse to my knowledge is not a big scholarship sport...and they few they have are probably taken. You CAN however walk on and early a scholarship next year, so don't give up hope.

Plus the college club lax scene is great, there are a lot of great players who aren't at a varsity program tearing it up in the club scene, and probably having more fun than the varsity guys at some schools anyways.

Go to camps and get on the radar of coachs. And not to get your hopes down but D1 is extreamly hard to make. What people don't get is that D3 is just low class D1. If you play D3 you have nothing to be ashamed of.
