Dummann Adds Curt Foxx to Hood's Coaching Staff
FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College men's lacrosse head coach Eric Dummann has announced the addition of assistant coach Curt Foxx to his staff for the 2008 spring season.
A former high school mentor in Illinois and North Carolina, Foxx joins the Hood lacrosse family as the Blazers prepare for their fourth season of intercollegiate competition.
Foxx earned three varsity letters in lacrosse at Loyola Academy High School in Wilmette, Ill., and garnered the Coaches' Award as a senior. He then went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio in 2002 and was a member of both the lacrosse and football squads.
During his time at Kenyon, Foxx assisted with Loyola Academy's junior varsity and varsity lacrosse teams and guided the Ramblers to two state titles.
Foxx then obtained his master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He served as varsity assistant coach at Brentwood Lacrosse Club, guiding the Bruins to a pair of 10-plus win seasons.
Most recently, Foxx taught history in Raleigh, N.C., and coached junior varsity and varsity football and lacrosse at Wakefield High School. He took over head coaching duties in 2006 and led the Wolverines to the school's first-ever Capital East Championship and a sparkling 9-1 conference record.
Foxx has also participated in various youth summer camps and clinics.
"We are excited to have Coach Foxx join the staff here at Hood," said Dummann. "We are fortunate to have a coach that brings intensity everyday and who has great academic and athletic credentials."
Foxx and his wife, Ilyssa, live in Frederick.
