Bayhawks attack stymied in 19-12 loss at Toronto
The Bayhawks (1-4) traveled to Toronto looking for their first win against the Nationals (4-1) on Saturday but will have to wait until the next meeting before they find their winning ways. The Bayhawks attack was slowed the entire game, and the Nationals went on to win 19-12 in the third meeting between the two teams this season. The Bayhawks lost all three regular season games versus the MLL's newest franchise.
"We didn't come out the way we needed to," said Bayhawks Head Coach John Tucker. "We put ourselves in an early hole, and that's not easy to climb out of when you play a good offensive team like Toronto. I thought our defense was better in the third quarter, but we have some things to take care of for next week."
Spencer Ford led the Bayhawks with three goals and two assists on the game for five points and a season high. Andrew "Buggs" Combs played in his second game of the 2009 season and recorded a hat trick as well. Kyle Dixon, who leads the MLL in scoring, was limited to just one goal from beyond the two point arc and one assist.
