OK, well i posted a comment or whwat ever on another thread sayin in indoor lacrosse the goalies have o much pads and they take up almost all of the goal and they still score like 345432 goales on them so i was thinking is there a limit to how much pading you are alowd to have being a goalie??? IF NOT WHY HASEBT SOMEONE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE RULE????? CAN YOU SAY UNSTOPABLE!!!!!!!!
I have used a lot of padding in my first year of lacrosse. Shin guards, shorts, and hockey chest pad. The refs never said anything to me.
It is much harder when wearing all that gear. It limits your movement and makes you much slower. It is much easier playing with the least amount of gear.
Many goalies wear those types of pads in my school field league. The only dominant goalies are the goalies who wear the least amount of padding.
if its harder for the golie to move with pads then it is easier for players to sneak a shot in a gap than it is if there was a quick golie that would make the save easier

I have done this. It does not work. It does not cover the net and makes it much easier to score. You are wearing so much more padding that it makes it much harder to move.
Field goalies are all about quick movement. I know that a lot of goalies look for less bulky gear. They go for less padding. To prove that more padding does not work in field, go try it out. I used padding two years ago and one of the strongest teams beat us 15-1. The next year, we had a weaker team, but they had the same type of team. They only beat us 7-3. It was beacuse I was able to move much quicker.
My only problem, is that I took a nasty shot while wearing too little padding, and not I am afraid to go back in with minimal padding. I will always wear a chest protecter, that is a little bit on the larger side when I play goalie.
The first camp i went to for goalie mgoalie told me to just wear a chest protector, gloves, and a helmet
it worked on being able to move easier but then they did this shooting drill where the kids could come up as close as they want and whale a shot at you i got nailed in the shin with a 65 mph shot (i was going into 6th or 7th grade) but since he was like right on the crease it hurt so bad
