i love that rule... it suprises me how far players will go to keep the ball but i hat a rule breaker... and i have a bad temper so... don't break the pocket rule, for it is sacred!!!!!!

Most players don't know how to use an extremely deep pocket, though. From what I've had experience with, most attackers like a shallow pocket for quick releases, and fast shots. Its defensive players that like the deep pockets, because it causes extreme hold and allows them more control when cradling.
i know ive done pocket stuff to bend the rules but if they really wana inforce rules they NEED TO CHECK D MENS STICKS IVE BEEN PLAYIN LACROSSE FOR 2 YEARS IVE WACHED IT FOR LONGER AND YOU NEVER SEE REFS CHECK D MENS STICKS SO IF THEY WOULD DO THAT IT WOULD BE ALOT BETTER, and another thing is that in midle school they dont really inforce the pocket rule so i meen it really dosent matter. Highschool will be alot differant and ill have to make alot of changes

The reason why this rule doesn't get inforce the rule that much is because the oposing team coach must ask the ref to stick cehck number____ on the other team and after the next whistle that person will get a stick check
Defenders normally have deep pockets, because they never get checked. They never get checked because they do not gain much of an advantage, because their sticks are so long, they stand next to no chance anyway. Also, they are not the people scoring.
