If thats the mentality here, then the winning team would have nothing to fear about not being able to play "keep away". They're winning because the other team obviously sucks, right? So, basically there's no reason to not just flip the ball over to the other side and watch them fumble around and try to win.

...or do you all think this is a bad idea because too many games are decided by 2 or less goals? Personally, I think it would create a more even playing field. There's ways of toying with the shot clock. You just have to be smart about it.

No one is very worried about those games that are won by 5 to 200 goals, but in games decided by narrow margins, it would make the end more exciting. Admit it, some field lax games can get like baseball at times, with the clock burning tactics. Its just not interesting or fun to watch a team flip the ball around for 5 minutes (if they can). It is, however, extremely exciting to watch a team down by 2 or 3 goals try to catch back up.

well all I know is that if they decide to do it for high school, goalies are going to have a much harder job. so maybe it should be done in the last quarter.

The shot clock emphasizes less defense and more run-and-gun lacrosse. It takes out the basic things. It also de-emphasizes smart plays that create good shots on goal and emphasizes quick and useless drives to the goal that are easy stops for the goalie. Bad stuff right there.

I think no shot clock is good for the High school game. Iwould feel way to rushed. I like that we could pass aroung the perimeter and be patient until the defense messes up. It may take a while. But, I definately dont like too much stalling. That makes the game boring and less crowd appealing.

Its not hard to learn to play within a timeframe. Seriously, just try it...you may actually get to like it.

I hate how everyone is so closed minded to this. I welcome anything that could improve the game.
