how does training your aerobic base help an anaerocbic action such as jumping. Jumping is all about explosive power. To jump high you have to be able to apply as much presure in the shortest time. If you really want to jump high get stronger. The stronger you are the more pressure you can apply. The next step is to work on explosin. This can be done with short sprints(under 10 yards) Vertical Jumps, and Dynamic Effort lifting.

pauls got a great point-but if after running 3 miles a day for 3 months you could jump higher, more power to you workout.

and i know kids who are explosive, quick and agile...but couldnt jump high to save their lives-so hops doesnt=explosiveness

RUNNING HELPS YOU ZERO FOR JUMPING. What you need to do is get ankle weights and just jump up and down like 100 times will help ya lil by lil if ya want "mad hops"

I had a document called Nike air jumping training or something like that. There was like 5-6 different excersice that you do 3 or 4 time a week during 3 month. After those 3 month, you will surely jump 3/4 of a feet or more higher. A friend of me did the program and he jump 1 feet higher now. But i'm sorry, I don't have it anymore on my PC. But the excercise was all about musculation, not running
