Smile How fast is your mile?

I am starting lacrosse next month, and we are timed on a mile run, what is your mile time, and what drills and excercises/ work outs should I do.
FYI:I am 15 years old.

It depends partially on your build, I'm 6' 160 my mile is 6:30 while my brother who is 6'1" 190 runs a 8:30, if you're stockier you have more weight to carry around. It depends how often you run your build and your indurance, I've seen people who are good sprinters but their distance is terrible. If you want to do better you can start by jogging, do two or three miles, then the next day try some sprints, while running distance don't burn yourself out on the first lap, straight away, whatever, try to keep a steady pace the whole time.

well i did cross country and get like a 5:30 mile. as long as you beat the bulk of people on your team you should be fine. dont do what a lot of people do and just straight sprint in the beginning. just keep a good pace and youll get a good time

Just like the guys above me said just keep a steady pace. Try to keep in the front half of the pack but just do what you can. I run my mile in about 5:30 and I'm 5'9 150.
