Okay, go to your local lacrosse store, or if need be Sports Authority. Find the Gait Icon complete stick (this includes the shaft, and the icon is the head). Buy it. If they don't it, get the STX AV8/AL6000.

You can also go to an online store.

go to lax.com, lacrosse.com, or laxworld.com on the internet or if u would rather buy it in a store, go to !)ick's sporting goods, they should have beginner stuff. Also dont spend more than 50 bucks on your first stick, what if u have a brain disorder and hate the sport

As many people said, go out and get a Gait Icon or STX AV8. They are both good begginer sticks. They have a wide surface and can be pinchied when needed. As for shaft, get a Alloy 2000 or AL6000. Nothing expensive at this point. As you get better you can upgrade.

Check out the Lacrosse Rules , Officiating for rules about the game rules.

Actually, I would stay away from the alloy 2000. It is the only shaft I know that dented from a poke check.

I used one throughout the entire box season and I was constantly checking the posts and I used it to fool around with in practice. It only has a few small dents. But since he is starting out, he could choose it. He may not want play next year so it would be a waste buying expenisve things. Again, I used a goalie shaft so the thickness may be different.

if you have any local lacrosse stores near you go there and ask them what would be the best the best begginer gear for me. Also when you get your stick make sure you like the pocket and that ou can throw and catch with it. If you like the sport very much you can get a new shaft and head. Also i would like to add the protective gear last a long time. I stil have my begginer gear and it still fits and its 4 years old. Just make sure you dont get warrior there gear is very exepnisive and breaks easily. FOr protective gear get brine, last a long time and it will still be great for you when you get older
