Default Most Important Muscle

Well, i think we all know that there is not a most important muscle. But when it comes to lacrosse, when it comes to shooting as fast as you can, what is the most important muscle that you use??

I thought this would be a great discussion so go ahead and discuss...

I would assume the chest, the biceps, triceps, deltoids, and shoulder. You would also need to strenghten your rotator cuff because of how many times you throw/pass.

There are a few more that I did not cover. I will leave those so other people can answer and have some discussion.

I've always thought that your lats would be very important as they are with most upper body movements.

I know for faceoffs, generally wrestlers have a better time, so I am thinking the chest/back/upper arms area.

Your back and core are what get you real power on outside shots.

For your shot, you wouldn't think this, but forearm muscles. I had a trainer and a college player (he is on Weslyan, leads goals for his team and they're good so he knows what he is talking about) tell me this. Your shot has to do a lot with your wrist movement, and when you have strong fore arms it goes much better, adds on about 2-5 mph. Everything else is also very important, but forearms help your shot speed in a great way.

I played D with a really heavy stick last season and my forearms got really big.

Though it might not seem like it, your legs are quite important in a shot too.

I've heard trainers talk about the core being very important in lacrosse, but specifically for your shot I'd say pretty much every muscle really.
