Default starting lacrosse, middie or attack?

Bottem line is im not sure what position i should play. I am 17, 5'11", 140pounds(i know im workin on buffing, up its hard when you have no fat). So a tiny bit smaller than some but fast. I would like to play attack but im not sure if thats a good starting position or not. So either middie or attack cuz im not real into defense.

My friend has been playing lacrosse for about 6 years now and i finally decided to join him. We are both juniors in highschool and will both be doin a winter league which according to my friend is kinda bullshit cuz nobody cares about it and everyone is out of shape from the off season so it will be a good first experiance for me before spring comes around.

Sorry to all attack men on the forum, but the saying for them is "All glory no guts".

Middies have to run, play some defense, etc. They still score, but they also do other hard stuff. If you ay your in shape and fit then middie would be great for you. you can handle the running and you will get yourself further in your lacrosse life. Not because Middie is a better position or anything, but because your in shape, fit, etc. and will not get tired come the 4th quarter.

well im actually not in great cardio shape. im just skinny. not that i cant get in cardio shape by spring but i also dont like running that much. but i would play either middie or attack. i jsut want to know if i would be able to start at attack or if it requires more skill and experiance like people say it does. no offense to middie but attack just sounds more appealing to me but still i would play either.

If you just don't like running, then don't be a middie. Go attack and work on your shooting.

Attack is the easier position, less running. All you have to do is have the middies do all the work then feed you the ball. Basically you have to put a little bit of effort getting open into it, catch a pass, shoot. Attack is easier in my oppinnion .

If you really want to know..
Its not your choice (unless you show up with a D-pole) the coach picks.
Most coachs will put you on middie, see how much you hustle, how your catching is, shooting, etc. Then if they like how you play, they will move you up.

I think you should start with Mid Field because you could use your speed more wisely on both sides of the field
