Default never played before but interested in learning

hey i'm a freshman in college right now, my first semester i went to college and played fullback for their football team, hated the coaches, and transferred to a school that doesn't have a football team but does have a lacrosse team. I'm dying because i'm not in a sport where i can try to unload on ppl. i was trying to get a rugby team started but nobody wanted to play. a couple of my buddies on the team are trying to talk me inot playing playing next year on defense but i haven't the slightes idea about any of the rules, terminology or anything. is this a good idea or should i probably just stick to lifting. I don't know if lacrosse is a hard sport to learn how to play or not.

It all depends on what school you play at. If you play on a DI, DII, or DIII team, you will have to work much harder to play for the school. Lacrosse it a really easy sport to pick up.

Since you have played football before, you have an idea of what needs to be done, footwork, and positioning.

For lacrosse terms, check this thread out: http://www.lacrosseforum.com/lacross...rminology.html
It has a lot of information on terms and explaining them.

For rules, check this out: http://www.lacrosseforum.com/lacross...sse-rules.html
If you need any help understanding the rules, send me a PM.

I hope you have the best of luck and good luck starting up!

alright thanks a lot man. For the record i go to a dII school that is more than likely getting a new head coach next year...the only thing that worries me is if i'm going to put all the time into learning how to play then trying to balance school work with practice and stuff (Law major so it's going to be tough) i wanna be playing and not riding the bench...but thanks a lot for your help

I know it will be hard. Put in an hour each day of your free time to practice. Good luck and keep us updated on how it goes!
