Default Review::proton Power

The Proton Power is a new generation of STX lacrosse. No other Lacrosse company has branched out and tried making the ball stop on a pedestal, if you will. This is a new form of its predecessor, the Proton. The Proton Power, or P2, is pinched unlike the original Proton. The pinch on the Proton Power is not an amazingly tight pinch, but enough to make a difference. It is an excellent head for attack and middies because of this. Because of the new ball stop, the pinch can start almost at the throat rather than have to compensate for the ball at the base of the head. The only drawback of the new ball stop is for traditional users. The ball stop only has two holes, so traditional users having 4 leathers plus their crosslace string will have a hard time stringing.
The durability on the head is relatively good. It is able to withstand many strong checks whether I am the "checker" or the "checkee". The only reason I say "relatively good" is because it tends to warp. Many have said theirs has warped. I am already starting to experience warping on mine and I have only had it for about a month.
The stringing isn’t bad but its not amazing. There are many stringing holes. The Proton Power is not like some other heads where the user is given unlimited stringing possibilities, but the user is not very limited although the new ball stop minimizes many stringing options.
The scoop isn't overly curved or put into a V, but it's not too flat. It is right in the middle. This allows for, in my opinion, very easy ground ball scooping which is a plus with the amount of ground balls in a game. A ground ball results in a goal often, and you don't want to be on the wrong end of that goal!
The head is very light. It isn't a feather but pretty close to it! I think this is a very amazing head. It can certainly take the abuse a lacrosse stick needs too. Overall, I would give this head an 8.5/10 only because of the warping problem.

I wrote this up during the summer, but I forgot I had it, so here it is....
