a great cheap one is the BRINE IGNITE its not quite as durable as some but its still great....57 bucks.... Kryptolyte D is good AND very durable its 80 something

What about the old Liquid? I heard that that was a pretty good head for defense.

The new maverik shafts are pretty nice. They are light and have a good feel to them, I just used one the other day and I like it a lot. They also have d-sticks that are camo colors which the kids love. Check out the Maverik shafts for your self though.

They are pretty brutal, im not gonna lie.... the camo is the EXCEL which is worse and more expensive
the feel grip and the octogonal shaft or whatever way it is is TERRIBLE if you are going to get it make sure you DEMO it or TRY it BEFORE you get it

you should use whatever head and shaft combo you like. usually defenders like a wide pinched stiff head where as attackmen and middies like more pinched and flexible heads. i highly recomend an x2(which stx discontinues but you can still buy on ebay) and a kryptolyte
