Default [Review] Kannon/CS 10

Kannon and crankshaft
Another review,
By your beloved AM17

As you all know, I came across a mismarked Kannon at S.A. So, I immediately bought it. After having it for about a month-or so now, I think I’m ready to give you a full review now. Let me open up by saying. The kannon is NOT a decent head!
Its great!!!!!!

OK first, I will review the head.
Next the shaft.
And lastly, the tasty combo, and crankshaft technology.

The STX kannon,
The kannon is a great head, here I will cover; pinch, weight, durability, and just some random facts.

Pinch. The kannon is one of, if not THE most pinched heads I have ever played with. It has a very tight keyhole style pinch. IT stays very tight up to about 4 or so inches above the ball stop area. After the most pinched part of the head, it gets very wide. Making catching and G’b’s a snap. Theres not really much more I can say about the pinch except that it has a very nice pinch.

Weight. The kannon is one of the lightest heads on the market today. I think it weighs in at about 3.8 or so ounces. (correct me if I’m wrong) There is a good bit of exces plastic removed from places where it is not needed. Such as the throat, and other various areas of the head. Not much more about weight, but its LIGHT!

Durability. So far mine shows no signs of warping, but it is a bit more flexible than it was when I bought it. But I do not see it ever becoming like an answer and being able to bend inside out. The head flexes back to its original shape when bent from taking a faceoff or things like that. I don’t see it breaking anytime soon.

Random facts:
Weighs in at about 3.8 ounces
Has tons of stringing holes (which I love)
Has a lot of excess plastic removed.
Very easy to scoop with.
Has head/shaft interface
Has very short throat, so you can get closer to the ball

Crankshaft 10

Once again, weight, durability, and some random facts.

Weight. I’m not sure exactly how light the CS 10 is, but it is certainly not heavy. Much lighter than say a titanium, or any composite. But heavier than say…an 803. What else is there to really say?

Durability. So far this shaft has only taken on a few minor dings. No major dents or any of that crap. It is holding up pretty well. I was a bit scared…because I have seen swizzles snap like twigs, and this shaft is the same metal (7050 alloy). But it really shown no big signs of denting, cracking, or snapping. Pretty durable, but its no fatboy.

The combo and crankshaft technology.

This head/shaft combo is quite nice indeed. With the crankshaft technology you get “more ball, and less head.” It has a very quick release and just gives me a sense of security when I cradle and dodge. The combo is very light, and seems pretty durable. Sorry theres not really much more I can say about this.

Crankshaft Technology. The crankshaft technology works quite well…as I said earlier, you “feel more ball, and less head” It gives you a quick release. And you have much more of a sense of where the ball is in your pocket. You can tell it its at the throat, or up under the shooters. The 10 degree bend was a good idea. STX did a good job coming up with the Kannon, V-groove, and Crankshaft 10.

Over and out,
AM17
