I will be using Google Checkout for this tutorial, because I like google.

I will not be able to post screenshots the whole way, because that would require me actually signing up, which is something I don't want to do...

First off, you need a google account. If you do not have one, post your email and I will send you an invite.

Next, go to Google Checkout - Merchants, and log in.

After doing that, you should get a page like this:

Fill it out as you please, selecting whatever options you would like.

Fill out the following form, and press 'Complete Signup'.

Integrating it onto your website

Next, you have to integrate google checkout onto your website.

Sign in, and click on 'Settings', then 'Buy Now buttons'. I will be using the buy now buttons option for this tutorial, if you want to do it another way, figure it out yourself.

Choose a style, type, and size. Put in the item's description, and name etc. etc.

Click 'Create button code'

Select the code at the bottom of the page, and paste it into the appropriate place in the HTML of your page. Note: However you are editing you website, it has to be in the actual HTML (code).

As soon as you do that, orders can be processed.

Proccessing Orders

Sign into google checkout. Look at your orders inbox. Click the order number to review the order, and you can enter a shipping carrier/ tracking number.

After reviewing the order, click 'Charge' next to it in the orders inbox. Make sure you will actually be able to sell it before clicking this.

When you have shipped it, click 'Ship' next to the order in the order inbox, to automatically send them an email telling them that it has been shipped.

Cancelling an Order

In case you should have to cancel an order, for whatever reason, go to orders inbox, and click on the order number.

Click 'Cancel this order'

Select the reason, and write a comment, if needed.

Click 'Cancel the order'.

I haven't actually tried it, but I have looked at stats and all, and here are the conclusions I have come to:

1. Google checkout keeps less money from your orders i.e. they charge less to process each order placed with you

2. More people have signed up for Paypal, so some customers might turn away because they have to set up an account- however 1. Google is very highly trusted, and 2. The pockets you are selling will most likely be original, so there is no other place to get them, so they will buy them anyway

I would assume so. If it was designed to use, it should be pretty self-explanatory. I'm sure there is a help section which would help you, just look around on their site.

yea cause google checkout says i have to have a credit card or a federal tax id number and i don't have either

I can almost garuntee Paypal will require one too, at some point. Just ask your parents to use theirs. Get your brother to help you convince them, and you should be able to use it.

If you can't, that I don't know what to tell you.

Okay, either wait until you are old enough to get a credit card, or use your parents.

If you have a bank account, you need to put it in.

Paypal/ google checkout needs a place to send the money to. If you don't give them a place to direct your money, you can't use one of the services.

So, does this include where the customer put in their credit card and shipping address and everything too? Or is there a need for shopping cart software as well?
