I was always taught to use a five step arch between the pipes, but I am so small it isn't working to well. Also is it better to play higher in the crease? I need some ideas before my games on Saturday..
Thanks.
do whatever you have to in order to play to your strengths. you can try a 7 step arc, where you come out a little further. playing further out might be good if youre smaller, since you cut down angle and can take smaller steps. however it leaves you vulnerable to feeds on the crease and quick sticks. it also takes that fraction of a second away from your reaction time. try it out tho, and decide for yourself.

you take 7 steps instead of 5. since youre coming out a little further, you need to make more steps to make it from pipe to pipe. theres also a 3 step arc where you basically just move along the line.
Dude, thanks so much .
I made so many saves, our team beat one of the hardest teams in the Sacramento Distric. I held them at 2 goals and like, 10 saves. Then in the next game, i took it all the way down field and scored.
Thanks, dude
Oh, then you might know some teams we are playing. Uh, Diablo is in the bay area? Um, Sanoma, Santa Rosa, Granite bay.
I used the 7 step, and even though i'm hella small, i layed the cutters out.
heard of all those places. never played them tho. i played for foothill when i was in high school. as for that 7 point arc, stick with it. some coaches might tell you to go back to your 5 step arc because thats the way you were taught, but just stick to what you know you can make saves with. being comfortable and confident in the goal is everything. as you get better you can afford to throw out the things you learned by the book. always be tryin different sht and figure out for yourself what works and what doesnt. its not a position youre gonna learn from by listening to someone talk. its all abt experience.
