Default Interesting Shaft - Harrow Goalie Howitser

I needed a new shaft as the shorty i was using needed to go back to the guy i was borrowing it from, fortantly for me and not so much for my teammate he managed to break his D pole howister quite close to the head end of the stick, so with a bit of cutting and glueing and taping, i've now got probably the only Howister Goalie shaft in the world... The bottem end of the howister where the end butt was is now where the head attaches, i've cut off the butt and glued/taped it on to the fat shaft where i had cut it before the break. I'll measure it up also (something i haven't done).

I feels nice to be special...

I'll throw up some pics later tonight when i get home.

The nice fat shaft means i'm not having any problems with gipping the shaft, and i'm let to have the shaft rotate in my hands when taking a shot on the edge of the netting/head - which i got with the shorty.

The shaft is also very very light, so much so that the head weight has unbalance the weighting of the stick (its top heavy - just takes a bit to get use to) i'm not sure of the head i'm using as it was given to me by anouther goalie, but no doubt you can tell me from the pics i'll post up.

The extra length over the shorty has helped me alot with saves and also intercepts from X (getting about 2-3 a game now).

Overall i'm very very happy with it.

Lol nice.

Looks like you need to pound that goalie head in some more.

I haven't used the stick for a few months as it's our off-season at the moment, it's usually a bit deeper. I don't have any problems with balls bouncing out of it, my biggest problem is on clears and throwing. But thats not so much the stick as it is me being crap. =;-)

If you guys want i'll weigh the thing so you can see how much it weighs.

From what i've been hearing these shafts seam to break alot for the D guys (one of the guys the New Zealand team has broken 2 in short sucession.). Could be a fun play stick or a easy free stick for a beginner...

Its always nice getting to finally get your own gear. I had to use my coachs gear for the first year I played goalie. Nothing fit like it should. Once I got my own gear it felt a lot better.

Ya i've got to share my gear with the junior team also... so the helmet always comes back adjusted, really annouying. I've marked where i have the straps so it's not too bad... still gross tho... I've got it all sorted for me, but ya...

Ya i figure i'm spending the money to get the stuff over here so i might as well get the best i can... lacrossemonkey will do worldwide express only... so for me to get a CP and gloves sent here it's like $70 us for shipping... It's a bit of a rip, but what can ya do... i'm going to have a look at other sites to see what their costs with shipping included are, i'm sure although i might pay more for the gear i can save it in shipping costs.

Mom and dad are heading over to see family x-mass time so i'm going to see if they can grab me a helmet for x-mass.

Yeah that would most likely be the best idea to buy a helmet here in the US. Save you the cost of shipping. 70$ for shipping that is really expensive. I'm lucky to have a lacrosse store 15 minutes from my house.
