Default Question?????

What do you guys do if there is a guy a step or two from the crease? Should you run out on him? Should you try to put your stick so you can catch the ball when he releases it? What do you guys do. My defense isn't great, good but not great, so that situation happens a lot. What i tend to do is come out on him put my stick up and for some reason put my head down. Then the ball goes by me somewhere in the top of the net. I don't know what to do!!!! Can you guys help me out??

Thanks a lot

Keep your head up and match your stick with his so when he shoots it goes straight into your stick

ya he just said it all im not a goalie but i play it when our goalie is gone and i try to pretty much shove my stick over his but it is realy hard to stop shots like that even for pros and it is not your fault if it goes in its the defenders they cant let the person with the ball get that close

It all depends on the situation. I have pondered this many a times due to my defence (or should I say ex-defence). I like to come near the top of the crease and make my self as big as possible and go for the stuff. Some goalies like to wait back and make the reaction save. I wasn't a physical guy so I never came out for a hit (Matt Russell did that in a game). Try it out in practice and see which one you like better.

Puff up, try and make your self big as possible, keep your head up and your stick in front of his, and hit 'em if ya can. Theres nothing better than to stuff a shooter and put him on the ground at the same time. Theres even been times where he tries to reach over and I've jumped to get more body in front of the ball.

Hey guys, I'm new here and this is my first post. Anyway, I would charge the guy if I were you, but like the others said, you have to size up each situation individually.

oh ya i saw Russell do that to some guy from george town it was awesome!!! But it depends on whaT I am fellin at the moment, if the guy runs around the cage then I hit him if he is camping and turns around i hit him but other times if it is a really quick situation I go for the stick on stick method. try the stick on stick in practice and you will be more comfortable with it as time goes on. (I thought that little Matt Russell move was so cool I did it too a kid but he was a pussy and turned his back to me so I pretty much just gorilla raped him but he didnt score and he ended up on the ground, it was awesome
