Every goalie has the same weak spot. Off stick bouncer to hip or upper corner. I don't care who the keeper is, if you do it right, they've got no shot.
Here's a great example (I'm the shooter not the keeper)
Good outlet from a Dpole that gets me behind my Dman.
Obviously the keeper is pretty much asking for it here but the point is still valid. I think he just wanted a nice picture.
Stick high, shoulder dropped to get the keeper on the stickside pipe.
Quick release to offstick with a bounce just inside the crease (the ball is coming back up in this picture)
You can see the effect on the keepers body position in this one
That's his right hand torqued all over like that so he's not going to get any higher. To stop the shot he'd either had to have stepped all the way across the cage which isn't going to happen in time or come across the top with his stick which is counterintuitive. Yeah it's a 1 on 1 so it's a little extreme but that's a straight overhand shot, if you can master it from a 3/4 it's very effective.
For Goalies, if someones trying to do that to you, don't take the bait to one side or the other, just chill and step straight to his stick until the stick starts coming forward then try and read the release.
Another big one a lot of goalies seem to have trouble with is the crossbody sidearm off hip.
