haha...I took a shot to the base of throat last year (shot went high when i was moving low so just went to take it in the chest and it hit the bone at the base of the throat instead) and stayed in the game (3 more 1/4's) that also didn't bruise... it was a big let down... I could make a list of the places i don't have bruises at from places i've been hit in the last 2 weeks if you like but that doesn't prove anything espically because of the fact i have no idea who mark millen is...

The whole mobility i find interesting, as with nothing on leg padding wise i'm not anymore mobile that i was in my catchers leg gaurds. I think if your being restricted in movement by the padding it's not designed well for the application of indented use, articulated joints, mimicing the range of motion of the body and other such things should be incorperated into the product at the point of concept and mobilty should be tested during the development phase of the product prior to release. Using a product that wasn't designed for the use that your putting through really negates the bitching about the gear being restrictive...

Seeing as how goalie pants are basically lightly padded compression shorts from what i can see i can't see them being that restrictive...

I love it when people start getting personal, and saying your just weak or soft, or blah blah...

I have read somewhere on goalie nation that the guy who runs it (do not remember his name but he did play at college) said he used hockey CP and shin guards and everything in between. A confident goalie is a good goalie.

I think most goalies do ditch the optional gear once they have been playing for a few years. But if you are playing recreationally, I see no problem wearing it. At the end of the day, it matters on if you made the save or not.

Amen to that.

me saying you bruising like a peach was not in attack, it is just how your body reacts to trauma. and mark millin is one of the best lacrosse players in the world, has a hell of a shot i mean his shot looks like a line not a ball.....and as far as goalies in D-1 i personally know none...maybe in the 70's but i was not around then....but like it has been stated what ever people want to use to make you better do it, for me it is less padding.

P.S. if u have an injury cover it, i used player gloves and broke my thumb down the middle split in two, i played the next game and shattered it, now i can hardly move my thumb.

Wearing goalie pants does not make you less of a goalie. I do not wear them, but I've seen goalies that use every part of there body to try and save the shot. And if it helps them it helps them no need to criticize. This is a lacrosse forum were here to discuss not to criticize/make fun of so please refrain from using derogatory terms such as in the quoted post.
