Default Middie has been converted! now i need help!

i recently volunteered to be goalie for a drill at a lacrosse camp and ended up playing goalie all day. One of the coaches says i may have a future as a goalie and with some practice i could even get some college cash. Unfortunately i cant keep borrowing goalie gear so i need to get my own. I was wondering if you guys new places to get gear or what gear to get.

For gear, check out a local lacrosse shop. They will most likely have the gear you need and you will be able to test it out as well. If the shop does not have the gear you need, you can always shop online. Check out LaxShopper.com - the Lacrosse Marketplace on where to find the gear you are looking for.

As for gear, you will need:
Helmet with throat guard
Chest pad
Gloves
Stick
Cup
Optional:
thigh pads

What I use:
Mask: Brine Triumph with a triad throat guard
Chest pad: I borrowed a DeBeer Icon but I now have a Warrior MPG 2.0
Stick: STX Eclipse on a Warrior Kryptolyte
Gloves: STX Gladiators with goalie thumbs

I would recommend:
Mask: Just use whatever field bucket you have and attach a throat guard on it. Cascade would be a good choice
Chest pad: If you can get your hands on a STX Gladiator. Otherwise try the Brine Eraser. It seems like a good CP
Stick: STX Eclipse on a DB803. It is a trusted combination. You can always try the Warrior Nemesis as well.
Gloves: Brine Defts were a popular choice. Warrior Superfreaks seem good as well.

If you have any questions on anything, let me know. Have fun!

I've heard great things about the brine Eraser for a head, but its all in the feel of the stick, your preference. Depending on where you live you might not have any of these stores but i check: Play it Again Sports (my favorite, best store for lax), sports authority (dont buy here, too expensive), and Dick's Sporting Goods also has alot of gear. again, this depends on where you live.

The eclipse is not a bad head but it has alot of flex at the top of it so if you ever get a fast shooter and you think youve saved one there, chances are that it bent the head back and slipped through. Im also a middie convert to goalie. ATM im using harrow HRWs for gloves ( with taped up thumbs of course...) an stx guardian on a gait 803 ice. For a stick I recommend either an eclipse, a guardian, or a nemesis. Depending on what you like. If you want something real light get one of the two Stx heads and put it on an 803. If you want a damn sturdy stick with a really nice head get a nemmy and put it on a dolomite shaft.

Default its a hell of a lot more exciting, right?

haha the exact same thing happened to me my freshman year when my highschool team's goalie got injured and i voulunteered to switch from middie to goal to replace him. within one month i became better than him and started over him when he came back. we're a rare breed. goalies who can actually run haha. i sport a Ecplise head with a krypto pro (shorty-shaft) i like the shorty shaft because i can still basically clear the field with it and my outlet throws are a hell of alot more accurate. and ofcourse my warrior superfly gloves =] even though they aren't goalie gloves i love the feel and there is still a decent amount of padding. good luck!

I just started saving shit with my short stick and people couldnt score. So when i tried using a goalie stick i destroyed people. I have a really quick reaction time because i play so many damn video games. So I was kinda forced to play in goal.
