Post What's your Chest Protector, yet again... sorry

For those of you who seen my previous posts, you can tell I'm really new at being a goalie. Mom is willing to spend some bucks on my equipment. Been looking around other websites to get reviews on chest protection but they seem to talk about the "old" stuff. Went to laxshopper and they had some but not too much reviews. What do you guys use and have you tried the newer stuff?

I have used the Debeer Icon. I love it. It does not have bulky padding and is really low profile. It is also very cheap ($40 or less).

The best on the market as of right now is probably the eraser but it is a bit on the expensive side ($70+). But many goalies use it and it does not have a lot of bulky padding.

One that I may try is the Sentinal. It does not seem to have a lot of bulky stuff and looks protective. It is mid range ($50+).

Look on LaxShopper.com - the Lacrosse Marketplace for reviews on the above.

i use a warrior player's club 6.0 and a brine one
there both nice but you want something thats tight and small snug fit to your body so when you move it doesn't shift letting you get hit in the chest or too bulky that it gets in your way when you are going to make a save

I use an old MPG. It is very, very broken in so it is flexible. In my opinion, if it covers your cheast and you can be as mobile as possible, it is good. I too am looking at the Sentinal. I tried on the Eraser and didn't like it. It is not bulky, but it is just too big if you know what I mean.

I just got a baseball chest pad for tryouts this week. Its the only thing I could find at the last moment. So I am going to add some more protection to the heart area.

I have the brine eraser pads, and theyre lightweight, have good padding, and they are not too cumbersome, and I like them
But you do have to get the right size. I'm 6 Ft 150 lbs and I wear a medium Eraser, so the large is pretty big

I need a new chest protector and i had my eyes set on an stx genesis but since it has been discontinued i can't find one in my size. I was also looking at the Reebok 5K Goalie Chest Protector, has anyone heard anything about it?

I now use a Warrior MPG 2.0. Haven't used it in a game yet.

The RBK one looks really good. I would try it out if I were you.

Its all about personal preference, it also includes a level of toughness.

I personally like to find the smallest cp i can. I have an older brine pad in small.

However, if i were to buy a new pad i would definitely go with the eraser.
