Red face Helmets for Goalie

Found out that Brine will be releasing a throat protector for the Triumph this July. Will give a review once I get it and try it out for size.

I use a Triumph for goalie. I have used it in both box and field and I love it. I have taken a few shots to the head in box and my helmet stood up. I felt no ringing in my ears either.

I would recommend this helmet to anyone. I wear glasses also and the helmet does not intefer when you put it on. I use a l/xl and all I do is loosen it up and just slip it on. I may need to fix up my glasses but its alright.

The only downside is that this helmet runs small. And so far, there is no specific throat guard for it. I use a Triad throat guard and I just tie it on. If you have any questions on the helmet, let me know.

Good luck finding a helmet.

Dada, I've heard that due to the triumpgh having a facemask very close to the face to reduce bulk and increase vision, that a hard shot to the center of the face mask can cause it to cut up you nose a bit. Have you had any experiences with that? or were the shots you took to the sides of the helmet.

I have taken a few shots to the face mask and nothing has happened to me. If worn properly the helmet does not move around so there is some distance from the center and your nose. For me, I have atleast an inch of space.

I may try that one out if it fits the Triumph. We will see.

Thumbs up Triumph review

Got the triumph and it came with the throat protector. Took a few shots to the head both side and front. Other than the impact and my short reaction time to get back in the game, the triumph has held its own. I like being able to adjust the fit, especially when my head gets sweaty after a while.

The throat protector seemed a little awkward but got use to it. Luckily I haven't had a ball hit me in the throat yet.

Thanks to Dadabhoy for the suggestion. U the man!

High five!

Did it come with the new throat protector or is it the same old one (Triad one)?

The one on the Triad looks more sturdier. Went to brine.com and clicked on helmets. It shows the guard that came with the Triumph. Clear plastic. It takes some getting use to.

Then that is the Triad one. I have mine tied on with some string. Works really well.
