West York High School in York County, York, Pa is in desperate need of help. 9 of the 12 neighboring High Schools are going to accept Lacrosse by the PIAA in 2008-2009 season as a High School sport. Our school is not willing to fund our Boys and Girls in our budget until 2009-2010. Which will leave our Boys/Girls JV and Varsity teams playing 2 or 3 other club teams 4/5 times each to have a season. The School District is spending 1.5 million dollars in field renovations but won't budget a measly $60,000 for our students. The School Board has taken the stand that we the parents and fans have to raise all the money by January 3, 2009 for us to play as a High School in the 2008-2009 season.Or they want us to wait until 2009-2010 when they think they will probably do it. We will be fund raising our hearts out, but if there is anyone out there that knows places or companies nationwide who we can turn to that help kids in this situation please tell us ASAP. We must raise $15,000 by the end of May, $22,500 by the start of the new School year ( end of August/ Beginning of September ), and the other $22,500 by January3, 2009. Please help us also by keeping our 157 boys and girls that play Lacrosse in your prayers, with out this I am afraid some may lose interest, and for the love of the game I don't want to see this happen. This is important to many of these young men and women as this is the only sport that many of them play.
