Default Expensive vs cheap

Is there a point to buying a 200 dollar pair of gloves, shaft or head? This is only my second year but my newbie stick and gloves seem to do just fine. I think the gloves are a little lame, but whatever (stx rival). Anyways, so what does buying a super expensive head so? Mines crappy but you can catch, pass, and rip... soo....

So by pinching your head you hafta be more skilled.... to be able to catch? lol. I can pretty much catch anything within stick radius of me, if I get my stick to it its caught.

With pads, the more you pay for, the more you get, in general.

Once you hit the very high end, they're all fairly even. So, spend the extra 20 to go from 70 to 90, but not from 110 130.

dont spend cash on anything except gloves, you there is no reason to buy 80 dollar aps when you can get the same protection for 50 bucks
Gloves are good to spend money on becuase your hand will be protected the more you spend, superflys are one of the most protective gloves on the market

The cost of something doesn't mean jack squat. For the most part it boils down to what works well for you. I don't mind spending money if it's for a reason but I'll happily sport a cheap pair or shoulder pads etc if they work as well or better than some fancy crap.

For me that's especially true with shoulder pads since I go for the least inhibitive ones I can find. On my team that's true for most of the players and most are sporting what most people would consider crap. My elbow pads are kind of expensive but that's because the they are the ones with the best protection and mobility that I could find. You'd be surprised by the gear that a lot of college players actually wear. I guarantee you the average high school player spends a lot more on their gear.

Yeah yo alot of players at my high school get the most expensive equipment to sort of show off i guess. I dont get it, they play like crap anyway, and theyll play worse when the $250 setup they got doesnt suit their playing experience. Price doesnt really matter when shopping for equipment as long as you play up to your potential. Aim at middle priced equipment that suits you best. Hint: try before you buy.

You should definitely buy expensive gloves, they are better. But the trick is to get them used because they will be just as good and half the price. I've bought Superfreaks for 50 bucks and Mac Daddies for 65 and they are ten times better than Brine Maximus gloves, RPMs, etc. You can find great gloves for cheap if you get them used and you will be very happy with them. With heads I like to buy older models because people will sell them cheaper. Sure you can buy crappy ones and pinch them, but then they will forever be less durable. And with sticks, just buy a woody your freshman year and you will have it till you graduate.
