Well first off welcome to the forums and game.
1. In order to learn the rules i would recommend searching google for the basics. Most bigger school programs have a freshman team. Most of the freshman at my school never really played b4. Your first year playing lacrosse ever in HS is a learning year. Now if there are cuts at your school i'd still say look around google and youtube and videogoogle for legit/profesional video's not just some kids making a random video.
2. Your friends are very fortunite to have a "coach" persay. I personally wouldn't follow some of the rules she talks a bout but you can most certainly have a catch with them.
