The rule will not affect high schools that play under NFHS rules but a lot of schools play under NCAA so it depends on your league. Also the rule change has been pushed back to 2010.

Under the rule, the Stiffi is not legal and can not be modified to be legal.

This is not a good thing for manufacturers despite that it seems like they can sell a bunch of new heads. NFHS isn't adopting the rule, at least immediately, so they have to produce more head designs and sell less per design which will make them less money. It's much more effecient for a company to have just a couple designs and sell a bunch of each both in production and distribution.

I don't like the rule just because it's a pain in the butt for everyone and I don't think it will affect the game since good stringers can achieve the same effect even in the wider heads.
