For your shot, you wouldn't think this, but forearm muscles. I had a trainer and a college player (he is on Weslyan, leads goals for his team and they're good so he knows what he is talking about) tell me this. Your shot has to do a lot with your wrist movement, and when you have strong fore arms it goes much better, adds on about 2-5 mph. Everything else is also very important, but forearms help your shot speed in a great way.
