The warrior nemesis.

A review.

The nemesis…One of the worlds most popular goalie heads. It’s used by most…if not all of the MLL’s goalies, and a lot of the top college goalies. I can see why. It’s a great head. It may be heavy. But that has its advantages. It is offset, unlike a lot of goalie heads. Ill cover some of this a bit later...

And now for the review.

Wow…Where should I start?

I guess weight is where I will begin this review.
The head weighs roughly 11.2 ounces. Some people think that it is the heaviest head ever. It’s not that bad. Sometimes I think the extra weight helps with those saves that you can’t reach fast enough. The head will pull its self in the direction you swing it….Ah…Momentum, you have to love science…which I have a 98 in…thank you very much. So overall, it’s a heavy head…but that’s not a bad thing…Unless you are a Noodle Arms!

Stopping area.
The nemesis has a pretty big stopping area, increased slightly by the outward flared sidewalls. They don’t do too much. But, they have stopped a few shots. The head has a similar stopping area to that of the STX goal-master 3. There isn’t really much more I could say about it. It actually seems like sort of a small head to me. That’s about all I can say about the stopping area of the head.

Stringing capability.
The nemesis is a pretty easy head to string. It has holes where you need them. Nowhere else. It has 5 holes, close together, near the scoop, for your sidewall, top string, and shooters. After those 5, there are 3 holes about 1.5 inches apart each. Next, there are 3 more holes…each about ½ inch from each-other. Those are followed by 3 more 1.5 inch spaced holes. This setup looks sort of weird…But, it is a good arrangement. Usually, your pocket will form right under the 3 close together holes.

Durability.
I’ve been using the nemesis for….maybe 3 months. I got it a bit before the season started. And so far it shows absolutely no signs of warping, snapping, cracking, or anything. The only noticeable physical difference is that the scoop has a nice brownish/greenish tint to it…(Well, you’d sort of expect that). It seems like a very solid, very sturdy head. I don’t know why some people tend to shy away from the nemesis for durability issues. It has a thick scoop, thick sidewalls, and a very thick sturdy throat. When I get in the goal with a nemesis, I never fear it breaking.

Offset.
The nemesis is offset…unlike a lot of goalie heads. The offset has its advantages. You can clear very accurately, and you can feel where the ball is in the head a little bit better. A lot of goalies really like how the nemesis is offset like that…while a select few don’t like it. But, I for one, like the offset.

Flexibility
Tired of that old eclipse folding in half on low saves? Tired of your guardians rubber peeling off, and throwing like a pulse because it got so flexible? The warrior nemesis can solve your problems! The nemesis is a very stiff head…sort of like the edge+ of goalie heads. This thing wont bend from a hard shot, it wont flex when you throw. That’s one of the things that made me get a nemesis over an eclipse. My old Goal master would fold over on low saves sometimes. And I was sick of it. After talking to a few fellow goalies, they told me that their eclipses did the same thing...and I didn’t want that to happen, so I searched around the internet, and read some information on the nemesis, and found that it was one of the stiffer goalie heads on the market now-a-days. So, I bought one. And it is stiff. It will fold over if you make it…like put the scoop on the ground and bend the shaft down and sit on it. But, it wont fold over during a normal game (box, or field)

That’s really about it…
Well. I’m sure y’all would like some pictures now?

Sorry if a few pictures are blurry…
I just got a new camera, and I’m not used to it yet.
