You have to have short simple commands so that you respond in time for them to react. People have many different terms they use...it depends on you and your defense.
you always want to call out where the ball is. (left, right, up top, behind)
"who's my point?" basically who is taking ball?
"who's hot?" to find which defender is the slide on ball
you want to call out "slide" when you need a double or one of your guys gets beat and needs help
"who's 2?" find out who is filling in the empty spot after the first slide
when the ball gets passed in the middle (in the men's game) you want to yell "check" so that your defenders get their sticks on the attackmen's sticks and gloves so they can receive the pass
"shooter!" this kids is looking to goal...tells your defender to be all over him/her
you can tell your defenders to "watch the roll" when an attacker is rolling crease
you don't want to be talking when the shot comes. you say things up until that point. you need your focus to be on the ball.
that's not everything and every goalie is different, but it should get your started.
i did mostly guy goalie lingo here...guys and girls are very similar, but there are a ton of differences. i could help with girls if anybody needed as well.
