Depends
It all depends on what you want to do and what you feel good at. Id also talk to your coach and see what he thinks about picking a position. Are you more comfortable guarding a guy with the ball or carrying the ball yourself and making plays. If you don't mind either go short stick middy, if you like playing the ball but not carrying it go Long Stick Middy(LSM/LPM). If you like just carrying the ball and making plays go attack. As for a stick it 1. depends on your price range 2. on your skill level(more so for the head)and 3. Position. For a shaft you can't beat a Warrior Kryptolyte as a A/M or D shaft, its one of the few things from Warrior that will actually last you more than a season.But an Aluminum shaft should do you fine at the start. For a head I'd wait to see what position you want to play before you go buy something nice. If you can find a Gait Icon its a really good beginners head so is the STX AV8. The Icon may not even need to be replaced once you learn how to throw and catch on the field. The AV8 though is a little flimsy.
